New York City-area designers as well as followers of this blog know that a few times per year we completely redesign the room at the entrance to our Lee Jofa showroom at the D&D Building. It’s a wonderful opportunity to celebrate our new launches, and recently, we’ve used it as an opportunity to display the work of up-and-coming designers whose work we admire. This summer, we are proud to feature Lindsey Coral Harper, a wonderfully fresh and exciting talent that we’re sure to hear more of in the years to come.
Originally from Cartersville, Georgia, Lindsey moved to New York City in pursuit of a career in interior design. After interning with Ralph Lauren in London, Lindsey worked at the well-known decorating firm Richard Keith Langham, Inc. in Manhattan for eight years before establishing her own residential interior design firm in 2007. Lindsey’s travels both here and abroad have influenced her sense of style as much as the genteel South. Fresh, young and modern with a twist on the traditional, Lindsey’s designs radiate bold pattern, texture and color.
For the designer room, Lindsey shares her inspiration: “We were in the doldrums of winter when Lee Jofa approached me to design their front room. When I looked through the new collection the first thing that grabbed my attention was the vivid "Versailles Grand" wallpaper! It is so vibrant and happy; I thought the palette would be perfect for Spring/Summer. Then I happened to find these amazing antique brass flamingos which reminded me of the flamingos in the wallpaper, and that was that! The result is a sophisticated yet punchy garden room.”
