Happy Thanksgiving from Kravet

It’s hard to believe that Thanksgiving is here again. I know I’m not alone in feeling like the holidays arrive so fast and pass just as quickly. A word we hear a lot around the holidays is “family.” Our company is run by a family that has guided its success through a century of growth and expansion. Throughout my time at Kravet, I’ve been reminded that the Kravet family see everyone, from employees to designers and customers to suppliers, as part of their own family. It’s an idea that creates lasting, successful relationships, and it also makes this a great place to come to work every day.

This year, Cary Kravet recorded a very special holiday message about giving, which is linked below. In 2013 the Ronald McDonald House of Long Island received the gift of renovation to benefit the families who stay there while their child is sick, and we’re thankful to have played a role. I could not have anticipated the way I was personally impacted and transformed by seeing the generosity of the designers and the volunteers who went above and beyond to make this project special.

The holidays are a time for friends and family, and for giving back to those who fill you with joy throughout the year. I hope you will all take the time to reconnect with what’s most important to you, and to share in the feelings of gratitude that abound this holiday season.

Brunschwig & Fils Unveils Renovated NYC Flagship Showroom (Part 2)

We are following up last week’s post with some additional photos of our newly renovated Brunschwig & Fils flagship showroom in New York City. The showroom features new fabric and trimmings, several new furniture frames, and a wealth of design inspiration.

If you haven't yet had the opportunity to visit, we hope you will stop by on your next visit to NYC. The showroom is located at 979 Third Avenue, on the 12^th floor of the Decoration and Design Building, NYC’s premier trade resource for high end furnishings. Home is Where the Heart Is: The 2013 American Heart Association Show House

“Home is where the heart is” is the best way to describe the American Heart Association show house in Glen Cove, NY. Pulling up to the beautiful white house, and walking through the charming red door, you are immediately captivated by the talent of 25 top designers. The staircase and gallery were designed by the fabulous Suzanne Costa and feature many purple accents including Aerin for Lee Jofa fabric, wallpaper, and carpet. 

The living room was designed by the very talented Kate Singer and showcases GP&J Baker fabric available through Lee Jofa.

Kim Hendrickson-Radovich, talented designer and board member for the Long Island chapter of the American Heart Association, not only served as Design Chair for this project, but also created a wonderful, lavish Master bedroom and bathroom.

These are just a few of the beautiful and inspiring rooms on display in the house. If you live in the New York area, please stop by the “Home Is Where The Heart Is” show house in Glen Cove to see more of the amazing rooms by these 25 brilliant designers! It will be open through December 1^st and has an admission fee of $25.  All proceeds benefit the American Heart Association.

Brunschwig & Fils Unveils Renovated NYC Flagship Showroom (Part 1)

If you’ve visited the famed D&D Building in New York City within the last six months, you’ve likely seen friendly signs and arrows directing you to a different showroom entrance, and a much smaller showroom, and asking your patience as we renovate. Just like all great design projects, it’s almost time for the big reveal!

The showroom officially reopened this week and we’re offering a few sneak peeks to whet your appetite. If you live in the area, stop by the showroom for a look around. We’re serving beverages and light bites throughout the week, and we’ll be hosting several special events throughout the season to welcome our customers back into our showroom, and we hope you’ll join us.

The opening of the showroom also coincides with the release of several new collections from B&F, including two fabric collections, a trimming collection, and several classic wallpaper styles to round out the offering.

Introducing Sarah Richardson for Kravet Collections

Kravet is thrilled to announce the launch of a new collection of fabrics from Sarah Richardson, the popular Canadian designer and star of HGTV’s Sarah’s House and Sarah 101. The collection will feature classic designs infused with fresh inspirations and Sarah’s signature style. The variation within the collection supports Sarah’s philosophy that every fabric should be able to be mixed and matched to create an easy and relaxed ambiance.

“The layering of prints is a signature element of my work and I designed all of the fabrics in my collection with Kravet to work with one another. It's so exciting to have my vision become accessible to customers across the country,” explains Sarah. “Through the combination of designs and the palette of colors, I think we have achieved the goal of offering great style at an accessible price point - and I'm very proud of that."

Sarah began her career in design as a behind-the-scenes prop stylist and set decorator for television. Her relatable style and award-winning talent has allowed her to transition into the spotlight as a host, designer and producer of multiple series for HGTV. Sarah believes in an inspiring and practical approach to design. By combining creativity with well-honed skills, she is able to produce unique, quality products with a dynamic, original flavor.

“My goal is to bring luxury and beauty, authenticity and creativity to everything I do. I have designed this collection to empower people to create a home they love,” Sarah said.

This is Sarah’s first collection with Kravet. Driven by modern feminine prints on linen and balanced by textural solids and versatile wovens, the fabrics exhibit stylized floral designs and easy-to-use small-scale prints. Fabrics from the line span a variety of color palettes that are anchored in serene blues, foggy greys, warm oranges and buttery yellows. The Sarah Richardson collection is now available in showrooms across the country.
