Designers will recognize this familiar feeling: months of planning, careful scheduling, coordination of myriad details, last minute chaos, and it all comes together in the end. We’re in the final days of installation for Project Design 2013, a project that renovated the Ronald McDonald House of Long Island with the help of 30 talented designers and dozens more companies, donors and volunteers.
This unique project brought the design industry together in an incredible way, as we all spent the last 8 months working together for a common goal: improving the House so that families with a child battling illness could stay in a comfortable and supportive environment near the hospital, in this case the Cohen’s Children’s Hospital, part of North Shore Long Island Jewish Health System. Project Design 2013 was organized and executed by Kravet Inc., Anthony Baratta LLC and New York Cottages and Gardens magazine.
The House will debut its new look at a Gala celebration this Thursday evening. Tickets are still available, and proceeds will benefit the ongoing expenses of the House, so please consider joining us to raise a glass to this wonderful endeavor. If you’re not able to attend the gala, the House will be open for tours throughout the weekend, ending on Monday. For a small fee, you can view the work of 30 of the industry’s biggest stars and rising talents and play in a role in the fundraising efforts of Project Design.
