Getting ready for Blogfest is a bit like planning a wedding (or so I imagine). You agonize over details, run through the schedule again and again, make sure all of the people and places are squared away and ready to go, and then.. in a flash.. it’s over.
We had so much fun this year at Blogfest but, just like in years past, it went by too quickly! Here’s a quick look back at all of the fun we had:
Sunday – Jonathan Adler Cocktail Party
Uptown on 83rd and Madison, attendees trekked through the rain from far and wide to clink glasses at the fresh and fabulous Jonathan Adler store. Customized Fatwich brownies and Prosecco made for a fun kick off of our event. Thanks JA!
Monday – Kips Bay Decorator Showhouse
Monday morning was off to a great start at Kips Bay, where Doodle Home hosted attendees for a delicious breakfast. We all filled our minds (and cameras) with design inspiration as we toured the home’s five stories and met some of the designers who worked so hard to create such incredible spaces.
Hearst Tower
No Blogfest is complete without a trip to Hearst Tower. This year, HGTV magazine threw a fun and colorful fete for our group, even making sure the sun was out after two years of rain and fog! Presentations from publisher Dan Fuchs and editor in chief Sara Peterson provided insight into a rapidly growing and exciting magazine for our industry. Thom Filicia wowed the crowd with several design projects and a panel discussion featuring Sara, Thom and designer Alexa Hampton had the crowd in stitches.
Newel Antiques
The final event of the night took place at Newel, an incredible five story gallery/store featuring some of the finest and most unique antiques in the world. Interiors magazine hosted cocktails and hors d'oeuvres and attendees mingled with Jonathan Adler, David Easton, Alexa Hampton, Suzanne Kasler, Tony Baratta and Thom Filicia.
Tuesday – Studio Tour with Aerin Lauder
The final event of Blogfest took place at the design studio for Kravet, Lee Jofa and Brunschwig & Fils. New York Spaces hosted breakfast from Balthazar for the group, and guided tours visited all of the different areas of the studio, including carpet, merchandising, product development, licensing, custom, contract and design. Special guest Aerin Lauder stopped by the Lee Jofa design studio to present her collection of fabrics and rugs for Lee Jofa, launching this summer.
You can check out all of our photos and some great recap blogs from attendees on our Facebook page, and #blogfest2013 on Twitter and Instagram. Our website, www.blogfest2013.com, has a list of attendees with links to their websites.
Thanks to all of our sponsors and attendees for another successful year!
