Today, Pantone announced the 2014 Color of the Year: Radiant Orchid. As is always the case, Pantone’s prediction will quickly infiltrate the world of fashion and interiors, and soon we’ll see this color everywhere! Purple is a color that is not often seen in interior design, but with the recent emergence of grey as the here-to-stay, goes-with-everything neutral, now feels like the perfect time for purple to have its big moment. We’re loving it as an accent to pink and orange, or paired with deeper aubergine for a moodier look.
According to Pantone, Radiant Orchid “blooms with confidence and magical warmth… intrigues the eye and sparks the imagination. A captivating harmony of fuchsia, purple and pink undertones, Radiant Orchid emanates great joy, love and health.”
We’ve pulled together a few of our favorite fabrics that coordinate with Radiant Orchid. Take a look and let us know, how do you feel about the Color of the Year? Could you see yourself using it in client projects, or in your own home? Let us know in the comments.
