Some of the most well-appointed homes in the world are adorned with beautiful, stylish fabrics. However, you don’t have to be human to live in the lap of the luxury. We’re talking, of course, about dog beds.
Recently, ASID NY Metro teamed up with Unconditional Love, a charity benefitting the Southampton Animal Shelter Foundation. Local ASID designers created sixteen unique dog bed designs for this unique competition. The New York School of Interior Design (NYSID) hosted the Summer Social, where the beds were judged by a panel of designers and five winners were chosen.
The five winning dog bed designs are currently up for auction on charitybuzz, and all proceeds go towards a great cause.
Kravet was thrilled to have the opportunity to donate fabric and trim to one of the winning designs, created by Phyllis Harbinger and her team at DCI Studios. Her vision for the bed was, in her words, an “over the top Cirque du Soleil tent or a carousel from the South of France. The paisley fabric was key to bringing the inspiration to life.”
The successful partnership of ASID NY Metro and NYSID for this event is part of an ongoing commitment to education and philanthropy in our industry. NYSID recently added several new members to its prestigious Board of Trustees, including Ellen Kravet.
You can bid on this bed and many others at charitybuzz.com. Thanks so much to Phyllis and her team for sending us these photos and creating such an inspired design for what will surely be one lucky pooch!
