The Congressional Club was founded in 1908 to provide a non-partisan setting for friendships among spouses of members of the House and Senate in Washington, DC. The Club now holds a luncheon annually to honor the First Lady of the United States. Every year since 2001, Kravet Inc. has custom designed a special fabric for the First Lady, used for tablecloths at the luncheon. Kravet is pleased to be selected and generously donates the fabric.

On April 30th, more than 2000 guests honored Mrs. Michelle Obama at the Washington Hilton. Mrs. Obama personally greeted approximately 100 guests in a special reception prior to the luncheon, including Mrs. Utta Kravet, Ellen Kravet, Dawn Carlson and Meri Stevens.

During the luncheon, Mrs. Obama spoke about the importance of volunteerism in today’s world. She also shared her impressions with candid remarks about her family’s first few months in the White House. Everyone seems to be adjusting quite well, particularly her newest addition, Bo Obama!
Kravet looks forward to future endeavors with The Congressional Club.
